I just heard the most ridiculous song. It's called "Love Addict" by Family Force 5. It features the hilarious hook "Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it" to a hard rock melody "sung" by a screaming vocalist. I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone who listens to metal music that would want to headbang and sing along to those lyrics, but whatever. I just thought it was amusing. I'm always looking for new music (not necessarily new to everyone but at least to me) and that's how I came upon that song. They were actually featured as one of Launch.com's "Who's Next?" Artists. That must mean someone likes them. Well, go them. My personal newly discovered favorites are "1234" by Feist and "Again and Again" by The Bird and the Bee. Actually the later is a completely new artist to me and I really like a lot of their stuff. Check them out if you get a chance on myspace or itunes. Another favorite band for the moment is Grandadbob. Their song "Pictures" is wonderful.
I saw the movie, 1408 last night. It wasn't the scary thrill I thought it would be but it did scare me in parts, most definitely. I'm sure watching it in a theater full of talking people helped me get through it a little easier than if I had watched it alone in my dark living room. But I like to think I'm brave so I'll say it didn't shake me too badly. :) It was creepy though. I'd recommend it. The movie I've enjoyed the most in theaters recently was "Pan's Labyrinth". Even though that was awhile ago, it has still stuck with me. I thought it was a beautiful movie and the soundtrack was gorgeous. At least I thought so. I'm very interested to look into other work by the movie's director, Guillermo del Toro.
On another note, this is a video I found today of my childhood hero acting completely bizarre and drunk on an australian talk show. Oh Jesse, where have the good days gone?
And here is a clip from one of my favorite comedians, Demetri Martin. More will come later. I just want to share him with people because he's hilarious.
I have to admit that this blog of mine is mostly to the benefit of myself but if there happen to be readers and those readers have comments on how to make it better or more interesting, then I would be happy to listen. So comment away if you feel like it!
